I did a very fun audio story on a new app that plays music based on GPS location in the Nelson-Atkins Sculpture Park. The app (and the composition) is Suite for the Passersby, by Christina Butera.
The process was pretty hands-on, doing an in-studio interview (actually two, because the audio got messed up…), attending the live performance, making field recordings, and taking photographs. I made a video to (somewhat) demonstrate the experience (cutting a 40 minute work down to 2 minutes of music).
I’m so excited to finally be getting faster at audio/video editing, though I have a ways to go.
