I love sandwiches.
I’m a writer, who works in a library, married to a talented and handsome Kansas City musician (albeit drums and percussion), with a grumpy furball named Murray. I am a mother. I think that’s pretty awesome.
I am not a Proust scholar. But if Proust were to eat something as mudane as a sandwich, this is what it would be like.

Enjoyed the discussion on KCUR this morning. I’m honored to know several women conductors in Kansas City, including Jodie Lin with Midwest Winds, an ensemble originally founded by three female conductors (nicknamed “Chicks with Sticks”). Another is Heather Pickett, who is the conductor of the American Legion Band of Kansas City, the 2016 Champion at the National Concert Band contest at The National American Legion Convention that year.
Thanks for this! I think the issue of women conductors is an equally important topic, too.
