I interviewed Devon Carney, new artistic director of Kansas City Ballet, for The Kansas City Star‘s A+E Fall Arts Special cover story. The season dance round-up also included interviews with choreographers Jodie Gates, Autumn Eckman and KT Nelson. They are collaborating with local dance groups (KCB, Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company and Owen/Cox Dance Group) to create three world premiers for Johnson County Community College’s “New Dance Partners,” Sept 27-28.
